I was able to do a lot of reflecting this past weekend. As I sat by the water and thought about all that life has blessed me with, I started to reflect back on the past few years. Before I knew it I was submerged in the good times, the rough times, the fun times, and the sad times. It was a very powerful moment for me. As I started to gaze around I noticed the pond reflecting right back at me. The image before me made my mind slow down a bit, actually a lot. I quickly snapped a photo of the aspen tree’s reflecting off of the pond. Moments like these are when I’m glad to have my camera at my side. Catching such a powerful moment with an image that will forever remind me of that moment in time - it's special. The wind came up and quickly blew the reflection away.....
Life goes by too fast…I’m getting older and my kids are growing up without my permission. My once young, powerful, and vivacious dog has gotten old and barely gets around. If simple things such as this start to drag you down let me give you some simple advice. Take some time to yourself and get away. Reflect on the wonderful things in life and make sure to look around and enjoy the moment. From a very young age we are taught to hurry everything. Hurry and get dressed, hurry and get ready for this or that. Hurry with your homework, hurry with the dishes, hurry on up to bed. We are in a constant rush to get from one place to the next, a constant rush to accomplish more and more. Do yourself a favor and stop the rush for a brief moment. Look around you and enjoy the simple things in life and be happy with what you have been blessed with. In an instant, a wind can come up and take it all away from you.
